Ramón José (Ray) Venero is the former Director of Administrative Services of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) in Alexandria, Virginia.
Venero has been involved in commercial real estate investment and management business since 1978. He has worked for national real estate syndicators, regional real estate development and management companies and, for a time, operated his own property management company as part of developer/builder group. He has managed varied portfolios of multi-family, commercial, retail, industrial, HOA, and resort properties. Joining the Society in June of 1997, Venero was responsible for leading SHRM’s corporate real estate services both domestically and abroad, overseeing its risk management program and the Society’s business continuity/disaster recovery plan.
Venero earned his BA in Economics and Urban Studies (double major) from Rutgers University and an MA in Human Resource Management from Marymount University where he was inducted into the national scholastic honor society Delta Epsilon Sigma and earned a Graduate Certificate in Instructional Design. Ray is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) at NOVA Southeastern University with a specialization is in Human Resource Management and Organizational Behavior He is also a graduate of the Leadership Development Program of the Center for Creative Leadership. He is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) having achieved this certification from the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI).
